Dental, vision, and hearing care for migrant farm workers

Project Description: Workers voted to invest Fair Trade Community Development Funds in dental, vision, and hearing care. The project will improve and expand the farm's existing dental program for workers, and create new programs to provide eye exams, prescription lenses, and hearing exams. For many farm workers, this may be the first time in their lives they have had access to these basic services.
Reason for the Project: Most of Grupo Molina's farm workers migrate hundreds or even thousands of miles across Mexico to harvest grapes during the brief season. Their home communities are mostly remote and rural, with limited infrastructure and services. In a survey, workers cited a lack access to dental, vision, and hearing care as a top concern.
Project Outcome: This project is the planning phases and the outcomes will be reported in the future.
