Adult Health Care

Project Description: Hoja Verde workers voted to use their Fair Trade Community Development funds to subsidize a variety of essential medical services for workers and their family members, including vaccinations, Covid tests, gynecological care, physical therapy, and vision care.
Reason for the Project: In a survey, workers identified high costs as a barrier to receiving health care.
Project Outcome: The project launched in 2007, and over 300 workers and family members participate each year, receiving essential medical care that was previously inaccessible.
