Funds for uniforms and school repair

Project Description: Workers voted to use Fair Trade Community Development Funds to buy school uniforms for students at preschools in the community, and to fund repairs at one of the schools.
Reason for the Project: Workers at this Rwandan tea estate identified several barriers to education for their children, including the cost of school uniforms and the poor condition of local school buildings.
Project Outcome: Thanks to fair trade funds, over 1,200 preschoolers received uniforms in 2022 alone and repairs were made to a local school.
