Home Improvements

Project Description: Workers decided to direct their Fair Trade Community Development Funds to launch a home improvement project.
Reason for the Project: A survey of workers at this agave farm in Jalisco, Mexico identified the poor condition of many workers' homes as a top challenge. Many homes have thatched roofs, dirt floors, and rudimentary, unsanitary bathrooms.
Project Outcome: This project will fund home improvements that will benefit 120 community members living in these houses. Improvements will include bathroom renovations, tile floors, bedroom additions, and many other upgrades that will improve the quality of life for workers and their families.
