Scholarships

Project Description: Farmers voted to use Fair Trade Community Development Funds to provide annual scholarships to family members in high school or college who maintain a minimum grade point average.
Reason for the Project: Educational costs were making it difficult for coconut farmers' children to stay in school and finish their education.
Project Outcome: High school students received $36 and college students received $109, and they will continue to earn these scholarships each year that they stay in school and maintain a minimum grade point average. A total of 173 students earned scholarships
