School Supplies

Project Description: The cooperative's farmers voted to use their Fair Trade Community Development premium to purchase school supplies for their elementary-school-age children.
Reason for the Project: The cost of school supplies is a barrier to education for the children of many of the farmers in this Colombian coffee cooperative.
Project Outcome: In the 2021-2022 school year, 1,500 children received school supplies including books, notebooks, pens, and pencils, eliminating a major cost for families and making it easier for these kids to stay in school.
