Affordable Food Option

A survey of workers at Colltex Garment Manufacturing Company LTD in Vietnam showed that 90 percent face challenges affording basic food items due to rising costs. To address this, workers approved a project to invest US$28,000 in Community Development Funds to purchase food in bulk and provide it to workers at more affordable prices. The factory's Premium Management Team worked to negotiate lower prices with large orders of rice, oil and other staples. 2290 workers and their families benefitted from this project, supporting household food security while building connections with between workers and management.
