Creating Space to Rest and Grow in Local Schools

At Greentech Headgear Company LTD in Ba Ria–Vung Tau, Vietnam, factory workers identified a practical need that extended far beyond the factory floor. Through a comprehensive needs assessment, employees shared that several local primary and secondary schools attended by their children lacked sufficient seating for students during breaks. Limited rest areas meant students often had no comfortable place to sit between classes. After reviewing the assessment results, the decision was made to invest Community Development Funds into improving these educational environments. In 2025, the Premium Management Team allocated $3,700 USD to purchase and deliver 135 stone benches to the schools where employees’ children study. The selection of schools was based directly on where employees’ children are enrolled, ensuring the investment reflected worker priorities and strengthened community ties. The installation of these benches has benefited 2,540 people, including students and school staff. With additional seating now available, students have more space to rest, gather and socialize with classmates, and prepare for their next lessons during break times. These benches contribute to a more organized and welcoming school environment, supporting everyday comfort and fostering social interaction. For the workers, this project represents a direct connection between their workplace success and their children’s daily lives. By directing Community Development Funds toward local schools, employees chose to strengthen the shared spaces that serve both their families and the wider community, creating a lasting impact on the educational landscape.
