PT Tainan Enterprises Indonesia

Workers at PT Tainan Enterprises, an apparel factory in Indonesia, approved several impactful community projects during their 2025 general assembly. Through collaborative discussions among workers, management, and the Fair Trade Committee, employees identified key priorities to support both daily needs and long term workplace benefits. These initiatives focused heavily on employee well-being, food security, environmental practices, and transparent fund management across all departments. One of the largest investments was the distribution of gift packages ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Workers approved an allocation of $37,590 USD of Community Development Funds to support 2,250 employees and their families during the holiday. The Fair Trade Committee coordinated needs assessments, budget allocation, procurement, and distribution to guarantee fair and timely delivery. Employees recognized this project as a vital form of welfare support. It significantly reduced financial pressure during the holiday season while strengthening their overall sense of belonging and recognition within the workplace. To ensure accountability and transparency, workers approved $1,790 USD from the Fair Trade Premium to fund an independent third-party audit of the Fair Trade Committee bank account. This audit is a standard requirement for factories at this premium level and helps verify that funds are properly received, recorded, allocated, and used in accordance with Fair Trade requirements. Using premium to support this cost helped reduce the overall compliance burden for the factory while reinforcing strong financial oversight and confidence in fund management. Addressing everyday household expenses remained another top priority. In addition to the other projects, the Fair Trade Committee invested $20,100 USD to distribute free food supplies to employees and their families. This effort improved access to essential nutrition and reduced daily living costs, especially for households managing multiple dependents. Employees reported feeling deeply supported by the program, which contributed to greatly improved morale and well-being across the entire workforce. Between July and August 2025, the committee invested $3,460 USD to distribute reusable tumblers to employees as well. This initiative encouraged healthier hydration habits by promoting the use of the company's tested drinking water facilities. It also actively reduced dependence on single use plastic bottles. As a result, employees demonstrated greater awareness of hydration during working hours, and the factory observed a noticeable reduction in plastic waste throughout the facility.
