Originally founded by 26 members seeking better prices and essential services, the cooperative has experienced impressive growth. Today, Aprocassi represents 545 members. The group has successfully expanded its coffee production, enhanced quality systems, and increased technical support for local farming families. In 2025, these members directed Fair Trade Community Development Funds toward strategic investments. This funding aimed to secure the cooperative's long term position in the sector and improve its ability to meet changing market demands. To boost daily operations, members allocated $150,350 USD to productivity and quality initiatives. This substantial funding allowed them to hire trained technical professionals, support important certification work, and guide producers on effective farm management. These targeted investments assist members in meeting the strict quality standards required by international markets while promoting sustainable production and product diversification. Furthermore, the cooperative invested $106,730 USD to strengthen its financial structure and improve access to vital financing. This capital gave Aprocassi greater operational stability. It provided the capacity to manage sales effectively, navigate complex market conditions, and maintain strong commercial relationships with global buyers. Additional investments focused heavily on internal management and commercial growth. The cooperative used $17,330 USD to support governance, leadership training, thorough audits, and better member communication. These activities lead directly to more informed and timely decision making across the board. Members also invested $6,940 USD in commercial strengthening, which included participating in trade fairs and upgrading facilities to drive sales and reduce business risks. Finally, vital environmental initiatives received $1,440 USD. This money funded plot renewal, waste management, and ecological vulnerability assessments. Together, these strategic Fair Trade Premium investments provided Aprocassi with the exact tools they need to thrive. By strengthening their internal systems, upgrading facilities, and expanding member services, the cooperative remains highly competitive in the global coffee business. Most importantly, they continue to support hundreds of dedicated coffee producing families across Peru.
