Seeds of Learning - School Supply Distribution

For many children of agricultural workers in Mexico, the cost of required school supplies such as textbooks, notebooks, and pencils is beyond their families' financial means, resulting in kids not attending school or being prepared for classwork.

The Fair Trade Committee of Agrofesa SA de CV in Sonora, Mexico identified this issue in their need assessment as many workers voted to invest Community Development Funds in 2024 towards a project named “Seeds of Learning/ Semillas de Aprendizaje: Cultivating Knowledge for the Future." This investment provided school supplies for 280 children of farm employees ensuring that every child of an Agrofesa worker started the school year with the materials required to attend school, learn, grow, and succeed.
