Emergency Fund for Colleagues

Some workers at this Vietnamese textile factory face serious health challenges, including chronic and terminal illnesses, and associated financial hardship from mounting medical expenses. A 2023 needs assessment revealed overwhelming support among employees for a system to help coworkers in crisis. In response, the factory's Premium Management Team established an emergency medical fund using Community Development Funds. Workers experiencing severe illness can apply for support, and the team reviews each case individually, with assistance amounts—typically around $200 USD—based on submitted medical documentation. The fund offers critical relief to those in urgent need, reducing financial strain and reinforcing solidarity across the factory floor. By prioritizing care for the most vulnerable, the project reflects a shared commitment to compassion, dignity, and collective well-being.
