Reading Room

A needs assessment of workers at Hangzhou Facecare Cosmetics Company revealed a basic problem with a solution: workers expressed a strong interest in being able to read books for personal and professional growth and learning, but simply accessing books is difficult due to the costs and long distances required to reach book shops or libraries. Workers then voted to invest Community Development Funds to create a library and reading room in the factory, stocked with books on topics of interest and accessible to all employees. The reading room is a success, with many factory workers taking advantage of this new and easy access to the magic of reading for inspiration, pleasure, growth, and learning.
