Distribution of Food Baskets

Workers at this tomato farm in Querétaro, Mexico voted in 2024 to invest $45,000 USD in Community Development Funds to tackle growing food insecurity among workers and their families. Rising prices have been making it harder for many to afford nutritious staples, and the impact was showing in the health of workers, and especially their children and vulnerable family members. In response, workers invested Fair Trade funds in two distributions of food baskets throughout 2024. The first round delivered healthy, non-perishable staples to all workers at the farm, while the second-round focused efforts on the most vulnerable families. In total, 471 baskets were distributed, helping workers put food on the table, reducing stress and relieving the economic burden on families.
