Pérez Orgánico S.A. de C.V. located in in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico distributes fresh organic produce, especially root vegetables such as jicama, cassava (yuca), arrowroot, sweet potatoes, and tropical fruits. 100% of the produce is exported to the United States of America. The Fair Trade Committee of Perez Organico voted to invest $25,590 USD in Community Development Funds towards an ongoing food distribution project to benefit 19 workers and their families for two years. This project serves to provide each participant with a food pantry to support themselves and their families, especially those lacking sufficient economic resources to purchase food. The distribution included cereal, cooking oil, fresh fruit, meat and house hold items such as cleaning and paper products.
