Emergency Medical Funds for Employees

Youngone Hung Yen is a company located in Vietnam and has been Fair Trade Certified under the Factory Production Standard since October 2019. After conducting and analyzing the main results of the Needs Assessment, the Premium Management Team (PMT) of this company, proposed as a creation of a monthly savings fund for emergencies that may arise as a relevant ongoing premium project. The goal was to provide a resource with workers experiencing a serious illness or accidents, and funeral expenses as well. A worker who requires this financial assistance submits a request to any member of the PMT, together with the related documentation related to the illness, accident or death of a family member. This request is reviewed by the members of the PMT, who decide the specific amount to be allocated to each case. This is based on the documents submitted by the applicant, such as medical records and/or invoices, as well as the worker's living situation. As of May 2025, five workers have benefitted from financial assistance ranging from $300-600 USD. These beneficiaries received these funds to support their situation and their families. Workers will illnesses such as cervical cancer, lupus, severe kidney disease and thyroid cancer were able to utilize this offering.
