At this factory in Zhejiang, China, a worker survey surfaced a common concern: with the nearest hospital far away, a majority of employees reported wanting better on-site medical support. In response, the workers voted to approve the use of Community Development Funds to provide a dedicated medical station, accessible to all 830 employees. The space is equipped with vital tools to handle a range of medical concerns - blood pressure monitors, a utomated external defibrillators ( AEDs), stethoscopes, and more. and Visiting doctors offer checkups and guidance for workers and keep the station regularly staffed. This project provides a critical layer of safety for medical emergencies, and provides peace of mind for workers who know that medical care is close at hand.
